Here’s a quick study of a beautiful sunrise I saw in the Belgian Ardennes last month ~ I had to draw each separate stage! I used to hate mornings but I’ve gotten addicted to moments like these.
An ode to the overcast winter hikes that got me through a long, cold, and isolated winter this year. Being in nature and watching the seasons slowly progress is a gentle reminder that nothing is permanent and that easier times are coming.
A quick environment speedpaint, based loosely on a reference photo taken in Madagascar ~ a place I hope to have the privilege of visiting someday! These baobab trees always amaze me, I love their chunky shapes!
The last in the series of drawings where I travel through my art! This one is based on Erawan Falls in Thailand, a place I hope to visit someday. It looks so peaceful and serene! Forest rivers are so magical, I don’t have many of them around where I live so I’m always amazed when I see one in the wild.
By the way, if you’re interested in my process for this, you can find the full real-time process video on my patreon! Patreon.com/loish
Another piece in which I travel through my art, because I’m not travelling in real life this year! This one is based on the Hardergrat trail in Switzerland, which looks so beautiful but also so scary!

I’m really bummed that I’m not travelling this year, so I decided to travel through my art instead! This is a place that I’d love to visit one day: the Injidup Natural Spa in Western Australia.

here’s some more sketches from my trip to the cévennes last week! I love the charming cities and towns there - they’re so old and visiting them feels like travelling back in time.
here’s some sketches from my recent trip to the cévennes in france! it’s such a beautiful place, I always feel so inspired by the roughness of the nature there, and the beautiful clear rivers.
