Here’s a quick study of a beautiful sunrise I saw in the Belgian Ardennes last month ~ I had to draw each separate stage! I used to hate mornings but I’ve gotten addicted to moments like these.
Trying to capture that delicious atmospheric perspective. Referenced from a photo by my talented photographer friend Michiel Zijdewind!
These poor gouache tubes have been locked up in a box for almost an entire year, so it was time to give them some love.
Craving majestic mountains and cliffs that make me feel small. The country I live in is flat as a pancake 😂
Dusted off my fineliners for an inking session. I feel like a bad digital artist for saying this, but nothing beats the feeling of drawing directly on paper 🙊
Went out of my comfort zone to draw some car studies! I’m so used to drawing characters that I had to resist the urge to add eyelashes and give them names like “Suzie the little blue coupe.”
I’m old enough to have seen the fashion trends of my childhood coming back into fashion amongst the youths of today 👵
Mark your calendars for October 11th! That’s my birthday, and it’s also the launch date for my third artbook, The Style of Loish. I’ve been working on this book for almost a year now and I can’t wait to share it with you guys. It will be about how I developed my own style, and also feature tips and exercises for artists who are still searching for their own artistic voice. It’ll be full of artwork and insights into my process, while inviting the reader to reflect on their own influences and artistic style. And of course there will be goodies like prints, signed copies, and fun stretch goals!
I’ll announce more about the kickstarter as we get closer to the launch date, but for now, remember the date: 💜 October 11th! 💜
A portrait of a kitty that lived near the house we stayed in during our vacation in France. He stole our hearts immediately. He was so cute and cuddly and honestly, we wanted to take him home with us. We miss him a lot now that we’re home but he is probably just cuddling with the new guests and never thinks about us 😂
