i’ve been basically attached to a wacom tablet since i got my first one at the age of 16, yet, after 10 years, this is the fist time my arm has been bothering me :/ cramped hands and fingers, ok, but a sore arm? fortunately i haven’t experienced any actual pain as of yet, but soreness is definitely a warning sign, so i’m going to have to draw in short sessions and take tons of breaks until the soreness is totally gone. blah! curse you, body, with its limits and everything. why can’t you just draw all the time, forever?

I swear, younger people are feeling more and more like older people each day. I’m experiencing aches and pains at age 21 that my mom didn’t start feeling up until a couple of years ago. I wish ya luck! I’m sure you’ll be in good shape in no time! :)

If you’re feeling soreness in your arm and hand, it could be related to your shoulder. If you could send me a message or something, I can tell you how to fix it since I’m a massage therapist.

recommend if you can afford it, going to a doc to make sure it’s not early signs of real issues. also recommend wrist guard for use durring the day when not drawing.

Is the soreness between your wrist and elbow? And is it in your right arm, or your left? I tend to get pains in the middle of my left arm from holding my tablet or resting my arm on the surface…hope it gets better for you. Tablet arm pains suck.

Yes , good, rest. RSIs are horrible. I still have no feeling in the tip of my thumb months later. Sometimes I drop...

Get some black cherry extract or even oregano oil. Not cheap, but it’ll help. :)

This happens to me as well - I wear a brace that fits on the wrist and forearm that I bought from the drugstore over the counter - if I wear it for a day then I’m better by the next day.

Be cautious. I got tendonitis from working on a tablet. Didn’t effect me until i turned 26. Now i have to be very careful and work on a cintiqe which gives me the ability to use my shoulder more then my elbow. Early detection is important.

be careful, it would be bad when you couldn’t draw anymore…!
(& you’re not alone, i just had surgery to fix my drawing arm -not caused by anything drawing related though! lots of physical therapy, but so far it still hurts.)
